Student Behavior
Good student behavior is expected in the library. All grade levels are aware of the library rules and procedures. In grades K - 4, we practice and repeat good behaviors regularly and work hard to be good role models. Grades 5-8 students have had a parent/guardian sign their Library Procedures form and are aware of the consequences of unacceptable behavior during library time.
We are using Class Dojo (mostly for the grades K-3) or Class Charts to monitor student behavior and to keep parents informed. Your child's homeroom teacher may be participating as well.
If your child's teacher is using Class Dojo, any teacher that interacts with your child was invited by that teacher to add comments to your child's account. You may also communicate directly with teachers, including the librarian, through the Class Dojo account.
Class Charts is a bit different. Students in classrooms who do not use Class Dojo were given a paper with a parent code that is unique to them. Parents need to go to www.classcharts.com/parent and enter their code when prompted to gain access to their child's behavior in library class. Grades 6-8 were also given a student code so that they can self-monitor. If you have any questions about either of these applications, or need a Parent Code, please do not hesitate to contact me.
